Seller's FAQs

Our frequently asked questions can help you learn more about selling with Martin & Martin Auctioneers, Inc. Simply click on a question below to view the answer.

When is your next auction?

Martin & Martin conducts regularly scheduled auctions at our permanent location in SC, as well as many off-site and virtual auctions. Visit our auctions page for a list of all upcoming auctions.

Do I need to bring my titles before I can sell items?

State laws require for Martin & Martin to have all titles in hand prior to the auction. If there is a lien on your vehicle, we must have a recent payoff and a copy of the front and of the back before we can place the item in the auction.

Why do I have to sign an auction agreement?

State laws require all sellers to sign an auction agreement stating the particular terms and conditions of each auction. Please take your time and review each section and complete it accurately. This document details how and when all sellers are paid and the rules and regulations for the auctions. If there is something that you don't understand, please feel free to ask questions.

What is the commission rate to sell items?

Martin & Martin offers a variety of commission structures from direct purchase, guarantees, and straight commission sales. Please contact us for more information.

How soon can I get funded for sold items?

Martin & Martin funds sellers based on how quickly the funds are collected from the buyers and as soon as lien searches and titles are completed. This process generally allows for the sellers to receive funds within 10-14 banking days. There are three options for sellers to receive their funds: USPS Regular Mail, ACH Transaction, or Bank Wire ($50). Please let us know on your auction agreement which method you would like.

If my item(s) don’t sell at this auction, can I leave them here to sell at the next auction?

Yes, at our permanent location, you are more than welcome to leave your items for the next auction.

How much did my item(s) sell for?

If you did not attend the auction and need to know your auction results, please wait until the day after the auction and call our office at 864.947.7888.

What is the deadline to have item(s) in the auction?

The deadline for your items to be entered into our E-Brochures that are prepared for each auction is approximately three weeks prior to the auction. Please contact your salesman for details.
